US Open… Homework?

The US Open begins today everyone! Make sure you tune into the the Tennis Channel, which is showing almost 24 hour coverage of the event. Play begins every day at 11am, and evening matches begin at 7pm. If you do not have the Tennis Channel, live coverage will begin every day at 1pm on ESPN2. Live coverage on ESPN2 will run from 1pm until the last match has finished in the evening. We’re talking almost 12 hours of coverage people!

To all of the META family, YOU’VE GOT HOMEWORK! We want everyone to watch at least one hour per week of US Open. One of the best ways to improve your game, and incorporate everything you’ve learned at practice, is to watch the best of the best do everything to perfection. So we are asking that you sit down with your family, either during the day or in the evening, and watch a little tennis. We promise, you won’t regret it!

Here’s a quote from the Huffington Post earlier today that perfectly describes the impact of the US Open:

“The end of summer brings one of the most popular global sports events of the year – the US Open. More than 700,000 fans are expected to attend the matches at the USTA’s Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, making the US Open the most-attended, single sports event in the world. Even more viewers are expected to watch this year’s tournament on TV, topping the 53 million viewers who tuned in last year on CBS and ESPN.”
